Day 1

Since 8th grade I can remember feeling ashamed of my body.  I remember thinking that I was so big compared to everyone else.  The reality was I had developed early and wasn't overweight.  I started Weight Watchers in 8th grade and I haven't stopped focusing on my weight since.  I have tried every program in the book:

Weight Watchers
South Beach Diet
Atkins
Ideal Protein
The Kind Diet
HCG Drops
Diet Pills
Vegan
Vegetarian
Nutrisystem
Jenny Craig
Gluten Free
The 17-Day diet
This is Why You're Fat
Slim-Fast
Special K
Shred
Paleo
Juicing

I am sure there are more but those are the ones that stick out.  I would lose weight and gain it back.  Each time I lost, I would gain more and more back.  Freshman year in college I weight 140 healthy pounds.  Two months ago, at age 31, I found myself at 304 pounds.  How did this happen?  When did I become to unhealthy and why was my relationship so bad with food?

In April 2014, my friend Jess approached me about Beachbody.  She had become a coach and she wanted to know if I wanted to join.  I knew all about Beachbody.  I am an infomercial junkie and I had purchased many programs over the years.  I never had a coach though.  So after a lot of educating and explaining the programs to me, I reluctantly joined.  I bought the 21 Day Fix challenge pack.  The challenge pack included Shakeology.  I thought it was all a scam and I had planned on cancelling it after the first month.  Boy was I wrong.  I fell in love with the program and the shakes.  I lost 21 pounds and 17 inches in my first 21 days.  My digestion was better, I was sleeping better, my depression was better and I had more energy.  I never did cancel my Shakeology and in fact I decided to get more involved with Beachbody and become a coach.  I have now led 2 challenge groups online.  Being a part of such a motivational and supportive company keeps me accountable on my goals and I absolutely love helping others.  I am going to use this blog to document the next 365 days.  My goal is to lose 100 pounds this year and transform my body and mind.  Thanks for taking this journey with me!
